Your love story: Tell us a bit about how you met and how this led to your engagement. Feel free to share your engagement story with us, too!
Stan and I met on November 15, 2021 after matching on Hinge and sending awkward voice notes back and forth for a few weeks. I had nicknamed him “Boring Stan” in my phone… but it turns out, he was not boring at all. From our very first date, there were fireworks and butterflies, and we quickly became one another’s favourite hobby.
Engagement story
A few weeks after moving in, in a tree house with Taylor Swift playing in the background and our dog Sherman at our feet, Stan proposed. It was intimate, personal and completely us.

Which Catherine Deane gown/bridal separates, and accessories did you choose?
I wore the Anna Bodice and Anna Skirt, paired with the Italia Top.
Did you find your Catherine Deane outfit online, at our London Boutique, or at one of our stockists?
I visited the London showroom with my bridesmaid Rose, who was visiting me from Australia at the time.
What does it mean to you to be a Catherine Deane Bride / Why did you fall in love with the brand?
The showroom experience felt so special and personal. Trying on the pieces with Rose made it even more memorable. I loved the timeless elegance of the Anna set, and the way the Italia Top transformed the look. It felt modern yet romantic, and completely me.
Did you have a specific theme/color palette for your wedding day - if so, what drew you to this mood?
We were inspired by the Maldives and Bali. We wanted a destination feel that was romantic, warm and a little bit dreamy, while still feeling elegant against the historic Spanish backdrop.
How did you decide that your wedding venue was the one?
We chose a stunning venue in Toledo overlooking the city. Cigarral de las Mercedes had the most breathtaking views and felt both grand and intimate at the same time. The setting over the historic skyline made it unforgettable.
After going through the wedding planning and gown shopping journey, what advice do you have for future brides?
Plan a day that feels joyful rather than perfect. Things might not go exactly to schedule, and small details may shift, but none of that will matter when you’re standing there marrying your person. Focus on the feeling you want to create and let go of the rest.
What is the most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Standing together overlooking Toledo as the sun began to set, surrounded by our closest friends and family, and realising we had created a celebration that felt entirely like us.
