Your love story: Tell us a bit about how you met and how this led to your engagement. Feel free to share your engagement story with us, too!

We were set up on a blind date by our friends and knew from that very first date that we were meant for each other.

Engagement story

After six months together, Tom proposed while we were on a city break in Copenhagen. When we got home, we celebrated with all of our friends and family, which made it feel even more special.

Which Catherine Deane gown/bridal
separates, and accessories did you choose?

I wore the Divina Gown with romantic, flowing sleeves that felt completely perfect for me.

Did you find your Catherine Deane outfit online, at our London Boutique, or at one of our
stockists?

I initially found my dress online after telling my mum I wanted something with sleeves that felt romantic and flowy. She found the most perfect Catherine Deane dress, and at the same time my maid of honour had sent me the exact same one that was stocked at a local bridal shop. It felt like fate. I then visited a local boutique, In Love Club, during a Catherine Deane trunk show.

What does it mean to you to be a Catherine Deane Bride / Why did you fall in love with the brand?

I loved how effortlessly romantic the designs felt. The moment I found the dress, everything just aligned, and the experience of finding it felt really special and meant to be.

Tell us about your bridal accessories (think shoes, hair accessories, and your bridal fragrance) and what drew you to these.

I kept everything soft and cohesive to complement the romantic feel of the dress, focusing on pieces that felt timeless and easy rather than overly styled.

Did you have a specific theme/color palette for your wedding day - if so, what drew you to this mood?

I loved the idea of soft, pastel tones against a more industrial backdrop. The contrast between delicate flowers and the raw textures of the venue created a really beautiful balance.

How did you decide that your wedding venue was the one?

Our venue, The Arches at Dean Clough Mills in Halifax, is a textile mill built in the 1840s. We were drawn to its industrial character, with huge windows, high ceilings and so many interesting spaces for photos. It felt unique and full of atmosphere, and the contrast with the softness of the styling made it feel even more special.

After going through the wedding planning and gown shopping journey, what advice do you have for future brides?

When something feels right, trust it. Whether it’s your dress, your venue or the small details, those instinctive moments often end up being the most meaningful parts of your day.

What is the most memorable moment from your wedding day?

Stepping into the space and seeing everything come together, surrounded by all of our favourite people. It was one of those moments where it all felt very real and incredibly special.
