Your love story: Tell us a bit about how you met and how this led to your engagement. Feel free to share your engagement story with us, too!
I’m English and my husband is Turkish, and we met nine years ago while working on a project in Baku. Even though our careers often took us abroad and we lived in different countries, we somehow always made it work. Our relationship grew across cities, countries and time zones, and that shared sense of adventure really became the foundation of our love.
Engagement story
İnanç proposed to me on a Black Sea beach at sunset. Watching sunsets together has always been one of our favourite things to do, no matter which country we’re in, so it felt incredibly meaningful and perfectly us.

Which Catherine Deane gown/bridal separates, and accessories did you choose?
I wore the Stardust Topper over the Kameron Gown, paired with the Chelsea Veil in Oyster.
Did you find your Catherine Deane outfit online, at our London Boutique, or at one of our stockists?
I visited the London showroom. I was looking for something light, ethereal and modern. I was getting married in Turkey, where there are so many wedding dresses, but nothing felt quite right or truly like me. The experience at the London boutique was lovely, and the team were absolutely fantastic.
What does it mean to you to be a Catherine Deane Bride / Why did you fall in love with the brand?
Catherine Deane felt different straight away. The designs felt modern yet romantic, and most importantly, they allowed me to feel like myself. The pieces felt effortless and refined, which was exactly what I was searching for.
Did you have a specific theme/color palette for your wedding day - if so, what drew you to this mood?
We were married by the sea at Ruins Bodrum, so the setting really spoke for itself. The natural surroundings, textures and colours of the seaside created a relaxed yet beautiful atmosphere that didn’t need much extra embellishment.
How did you decide that your wedding venue was the one?
Ruins Bodrum was an incredibly stunning backdrop right on the seaside. The combination of the ruins, the sea and the open sky made it feel truly magical and unforgettable.
After going through the wedding planning and gown shopping journey, what advice do you have for future brides?
Choose something that feels like you. It’s so easy to get swept up in expectations, but when you feel comfortable and authentic, it really shows. Trust your instincts and don’t be afraid to follow what feels right for you.
What is the most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Standing together by the sea, taking in the moment and realising that after years of travelling, working abroad and living in different places, we were finally celebrating our love surrounded by everyone we care about.
