My husband and I met in a football stadium at VfL Bochum. It’s quite funny because I’m actually not a football fan at all, but he is a big supporter of the club. I was only there to accompany my friend after her original plans changed. After the match, we all met up as a group, and that’s where we first met.
Engagement story
In 2024, while we were in Florida, we had dinner on a private island near Key West. As the sun was setting, he proposed. It was incredibly romantic and completely unforgettable.

I wore the Anya Topper, paired with the Alexis Trousers and the Zia Bandeau in crepe.
Did you find your Catherine Deane outfit online, at our London Boutique, or at one of our stockists?
I found my outfit at a bridal boutique in Baden-Baden.
What does it mean to you to be a Catherine Deane Bride / Why did you fall in love with the brand?
I knew from the beginning that I didn’t want to wear a traditional dress. I was looking for something elegant, sparkling and glamorous, but still timeless and not too over the top. The two-piece options felt perfect for that, and after trying on several looks, I completely fell in love with the Anya Topper.
Tell us about your bridal accessories (think shoes, hair accessories, and your bridal fragrance) and what drew you to these.
I kept my overall look refined and elegant, choosing pieces that complemented the modern, tailored feel of my outfit while still feeling special and elevated for the occasion.
Did you have a specific theme/color palette for your wedding day - if so, what drew you to this mood?
For our civil wedding at Schloss Bensberg, we chose an all-white palette with white roses, creating a classic, elegant and refined atmosphere. For our church wedding in Marbella, we wanted to embrace the Andalusian setting, so we introduced warm orange and pink tones to reflect the summery, vibrant surroundings.
How did you decide that your wedding venue was the one?
Good food is very important to both of us, and La Milla immediately stood out. It’s located right on the beach, and we first discovered it through the Michelin Guide. After dining there, we knew it was the perfect place. The food was incredible, and the view of the sea was simply breathtaking.
After going through the wedding planning and gown shopping journey, what advice do you have for future brides?
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to follow every plan perfectly. Some of the most beautiful moments come when things unfold naturally. Stay present, trust your instincts and focus on enjoying the experience as it happens.
What is the most memorable moment from your wedding day?
After our church ceremony in Marbella’s old town, we had a small celebration with drinks just outside the church before heading to the venue. Sitting there with my husband, I realised that all of our guests had travelled to Marbella just for us. It was such an emotional moment, seeing how many people came together to celebrate our love.
