Your love story: Tell us a bit about how you met and how this led to your engagement. Feel free to share your engagement story with us, too!
Kris and I met the old-fashioned way - on a dating app! :) We matched, exchanged a few messages and a few days later, Kris took me on an ice cream crawl all across central London. Over many, many scoops of ice cream later, we learned about each other's values, our families and hobbies. We both found each other to be a breath of fresh air and just loved spending time together doing anything and everything.
Engagement story
It happened to be our 3-year anniversary while we were in Paris for the summer Olympics. On the morning of our anniversary, we had a nice, slow morning with croissants and coffee. Afterwards, Kris took me on a walk to the Natural History Museum garden - Jardin des Plantes. We were walking through the gardens, and I noticed a violinist in the distance. What I didn't know was that the violinist was for us! Kris planned for months for her to be there and to play my all-time favourite song. The moment I heard the opening bars to the song, I started bawling. I was so touched and surprised by it all!
Which Catherine Deane gown/bridal separates, and accessories did you choose?
The top was the Anya Top, and the skirt was the Les skirt. Such a beautiful combination!

Did you find your Catherine Deane outfit online, at our London Boutique, or at one of our stockists?
I visited the London Boutique where Zun was the most amazing, most helpful and patient person. I also happened to be 5 months pregnant at the time, so I didn't feel like anything looked right on at that time, but I just loved the pieces so much. Shortly after I gave birth, I went back for a second appointment and tried on my favourite pieces again, and everything just clicked into place that day. I loved it all. Catherine Deane was the only boutique I went to for my wedding dress...when you know, you know!
What does it mean to you to be a Catherine Deane Bride / Why did you fall in love with the brand?
I always knew I wanted something a bit more untraditional, unique and something ornate. I was also after something that looked classy-chic, but also something that would make me feel bold and sexy. I browsed through a lot of dresses online before trying anything on, and every time I saw something that caught my eye, it was a Catherine Deane design! I admired the brand from the get-go, especially the bridal separates, because I felt like they gave you the flexibility of really making your look your own and for any type of wedding. Seeing the separates in person and on made me fall in love with the designs even more.
Did you have a specific theme/color palette for your wedding day - if so, what drew you to this mood?
We had a late summer, early autumn wedding, so I wanted soft colours that would create a light, bright and airy feel at both our ceremony and wedding reception. Our main colour was a light dusty blue, which also happened to match both our ceremony venue and our reception venue. I then added complementary colours like blush, peaches and ivory to brighten everything up and tied everything together with pearl accents to match my Anya Topper. It had the right blend of softness and textures and cohesion that I really loved.
How did you decide that your wedding venue was the one?
We had our ceremony at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham. I knew it was the right venue the moment I set foot in the gallery. You walk into the Octagon room and can't help but be stunned by the art and ornate golden details on the ceilings and the walls. The black and white tiles on the floor gave it an added classy, old-school feel. There is also a lot of natural light, which was important to me to capture the light and bright feel I was after. It was the perfect venue for the intimate wedding we were planning for.
After going through the wedding planning and gown shopping journey, what advice do you have for future brides?
It really is all about the details that make everything come together. Not everything has to cost a fortune, but if you invest in the things you really love (like my Anya Topper!) and see what you can get with more affordable, complementary pieces or details, you'd be surprised how beautiful everything can really look. This goes for both the wedding dress and the ceremony/reception. I also really loved my vendors and how well we all clicked. Having vendors on the same wavelength as you really makes such a big difference in helping your day unfold stress-free.

What is the most memorable moment from your wedding day?
We were fortunate to have our son at our wedding. The most memorable moment from the day was when we said our vows to each other and had a set of vows we wrote for him as well. I'll never forget that moment and how special it was for us as a family.
