Amy & Connar

OUR STORY
 Couple’s Names:
Connar and Amy
  Wedding date:
21st July 2023
  Our engagement story:

I was working Christmas Day, which I believe scuppered the original plan but meant that we had our day together on Christmas Eve. We took a long walk around Greenwich Park with our handsome dog, still only a pup and not very disciplined, running off in all directions. It was a bit wet and I when looked back to see Connar on one knee, my initial reaction was that he must have slipped but then I saw the ring box. It was only later that we realised the path he had proposed on was Lover’s Walk.

Our love story:

It was the worst day of his life! Connar’s football team had a miserable lost to their rivals and he was out in South London, drowning his sorrows. I was celebrating my friend’s new venture. I wish we could say we met across a crowded dancefloor, but I think it was pretty empty and all eyes were on us. ♥️
FASHION NOTES
Bride's wedding dress:
Kameron gown, Jewel jacket, Chelsea veil
Falling in love with my Catherine Deane outfit:
I didn’t know what I was looking for, but when I found Catherine Deane I knew it was right. My aim was to be comfortable, relaxed and romantic. It was my first stop and I tried on 5 gowns, I was torn between 2 of them but loved my choice as I could change it up a little in the evening by choosing separates
Did you go to a CD showroom or purchase your gown online?

I went to the showroom with a friend on a beautiful sunny day. The light in the showroom was beautiful, the gowns were al incredible. Joanna really helped me narrow down my tastes and show me options I loved.

Bridesmaids dresses:
With my husband’s family tartan being very bold, it was difficult to create a flattering colour palate. We eventually picked up on the small line of blue in the tartan and found some dusky blue dresses from monsoon, with a little bit of sparkle in them to match my Jewel topper.
Tell us about your Wedding Venue:
A beautiful hotel, The Vineyard hotel, in Berkshire. From the moment we entered the hotel we felt looked after and at ease. The spa the day before was a dream too!
Wedding style:
Elegant, relaxed, romantic
  Our photographer:
Lauren Elizabeth Photography – she was so great at capturing all the small details on the day and making sure we made the most of golden hour in the evening.
  Our Honeymoon destination:
St Lucia, I would recommend it to anyone, whether you’re looking for a relaxing hideaway or a bit of adventure, there were plenty of activities to suit us both.
Our most memorable moment:
During our first dance, seeing all our guests belting out the words to ‘Can you feel the love tonight.’ Everyone got involved, the volume was overpowering and the smiles on everyone’s face was a relief – everyone was having as good a time as we were.
 Our funniest moment:
There were many but our dog acted as ring bearer. After the ceremony, on the way out, he laid in the middle of the aisle to stopped everyone leaving – he had not finished the bone he received for being such a good boy.
