Laura & Stephen

OUR STORY

 Couple’s Names:
Laura & Stephen
  Wedding date:
15th June 2024

Our love story:

We met whilst Stephen was waiting to join the RAF in 2014, he was doing some part time work in the village I have moved to 5 years earlier. Stephen’s grandmother lived next door to mine which oddly enough is how his parents met.

Our engagement story:

We had talked about getting married but before a military deployment to the Falklands Stephen proposed in Lake District on the top of Loughrigg Fell, one of our favourite walks.

The Bride Wore:

Monique top & Liz Skirt

Falling in love with my Catherine Deane outfit:
Being a Catherine Deane bride meant that I could get married (being an older bride and married before) in a bridal outfit that felt comfortable and looked so elegant. I loved the fact that there were separates and so much choice to make it more dramatic or more casual, depending on what I was going for. I had tried on so many dresses, and they looked amazing hanging up, but when I put them on, they just didn’t feel like me. As soon as I found a CD stockist, I knew I was in the right place. I put on the top and skirt, and I just loved it, I felt beautiful and so comfortable.

Did you find your Catherine Deane gown at our London Boutique, at one of our bridal stockists, or online?

I bought my wedding look at a stockist: Mia Bridal

Tell us about your Wedding Venue:

We were married at a medieval church in Martindale, Ullswater, in the Lake District - with no running water or electricity, and in a remote valley. We hike there all the time, and it’s a very special place for us. The venue was an old farmhouse, Hause Hall Farm, where we stayed with 14 of our immediate family members as guests. We had an acoustic guitarist, David Aryn, to play in the church and for the reception at the house. We hired a private chef who came and catered a sit-down meal for everyone. We hiked to the top of the mountain we were staying on in the rain with our photographer and content creator.

Wedding style: Wedding style was country and relaxed

Our most memorable moment:

Walking into the church and seeing all the flowers and candles and my husband waiting for me surrounded by our immediate family, it was a beautiful moment.

 Our funniest moment:
Hiking in the rain!

Tell us about your honeymoon destination:

We went to the opera festival in Verona and then to Lake Garda for a few days, hiking Monte Baldo and eating gorgeous Italian food.
